Learning Objectives
- Outline the goals of a quality management system, its standards, management system audits, third-party certification, and the financial gains
- Describe the duties and obligations of an auditor regarding organizing, carrying out, documenting, and monitoring an audit
- Arrange, carry out, document, and monitor an audit of a quality management system to determine if it complies with ISO 9001, ISO 19011, and ISO/IEC 17021
Expected Prior Knowledge
- The Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle
- The relationship between quality management and customer satisfaction
- Commonly used quality management terms and the 8 Quality Principles (ISO 9000)
- The process approach used in quality management
- Knowledge of the requirements of ISO 9001
Course Format & Style
- Two sessions before lunch and two after lunch each day
- The exercises output will be graded as a required component of formal continuous assessment
- On Days 4 and 5, a mock audit and role play will be held
- A model factory will be utilized, and real-world examples will be provided
