Learning Objectives
- Recognize the OH&S management systems and standards scope
- Recognize the methods, procedures, and auditing principles of risk assessment
- Describe the distinctions between global standards for quality/environmental management and OH&S
- Plan, prepare, conduct, and report verbally and in writing an audit of an organization's management
Expected Prior Knowledge
- The Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle
- The purpose and benefits of an occupational health and safety management system
- A basic knowledge of OH&S through hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control
- A basic awareness of common national and local OH&S legislations
- Knowledge of the requirements of OHSMS ISO 45001:2018
Course Format & Style
- Four sessions per typical day (two before lunch, two after)
- Exercise outputs graded as part of continuous assessment
- Mock audits and role plays on Days 4 and 5
- Live audit role play in the host organization on day five
